However, in recent years, Claude's good name has been inadvertently besmirched by association with a very different kind of "Claude" - a so-called "constitutional AI" that has been touted as a breakthrough in ethical artificial intelligence. While the researchers behind this AI may have had good intentions, their approach and the resulting system have proven to be deeply flawed, and it's important that we distinguish this problematic AI from our cherished albino alligator.
